If you are going to start working fewer hours, whether temporarily or permanently, this often has consequences for your pension. By working fewer hours, you receive less salary and accrue less pension capital.
For your pension, it is important to consider how you are going to start working fewer hours, whether temporarily or permanently:
-
Taking holiday
You are entitled to a number of days’ holiday each year. If you take this leave, it has no effect on your pension capital. -
Taking unpaid leave/parental leave/a sabbatical
If you take unpaid leave, you have more free time, but you continue to be employed by your employer. Your pension accrual at Flexsecurity ceases temporarily. -
Part-time work
If you choose to work fewer hours, you will also accrue less pension capital. This has consequences for your:
- retirement pension
- partner’s pension
- orphans’ pension
