If you are choosing furniture together, visit the notary together! If you live together, you share more with each other on a personal and financial level. However, nothing is automatically arranged for your pension.

What can you do?

If you are a member of the Plus Scheme and you and your partner are registered at the same address at the municipality, enter into a notarial cohabitation agreement with your partner. Your partner will only then be entitled to partner’s pension. If you are a member of the Basic Scheme and live together, your partner is not entitled to partner’s pension.

You can ensure that your partner receives a higher income after you die by taking out insurance through an insurer yourself.
